What should I (and my children) wear to church?
Wear whatever you feel comfortable wearing! Some of us wear "business casual" while others wear jeans or even shorts. Children may have art projects or outdoor activities. They should dress so they can actively engage in the program.

Is there childcare/Sunday school during the church service?
Children (K-5) often remain in the service for the first 15-20 minutes for a gathering song and story. Then they go to classes for the remainder of the hour. Childcare for infants and toddlers is always available.

If my child doesn't separate well, can she or he stay with me in the service?
Certainly. Or, you may choose to attend class with your child if that works best at first.

Are you genuinely welcoming to all people?
We are a Welcoming Congregation (go here for more about being a WC). We are a home of free faith and religious diversity. We gather to worship honoring our differences in age, race, gender, ability, class, sexual orientation, and national origin. We trust that the unique and beautiful qualities that you bring will be celebrated and appreciated. While saying so doesn't make it so, an important reason we come together is to remind ourselves of what we value. And because we value human diversity, we include the voices of all people – in our readings and music, our RE classes, and our leadership.

What goes on during the Sunday service?
A typical Sunday service lasts about on hour and includes announcements, a chalice lighting, singing by the congregation, singing by the choir (usually twice a month), a sermon or speaker, meditation/prayer, an offering and a simple benediction. Wonderful music is offered each week by various musicians in our church community.
We also have a time for sharing of joys and sorrows when members and friends are invited to light a candle and briefly share a joy or sorrow they are experiencing in their life. Sometimes there may be a special program (such as the children's holiday pageant or a theatrical presentation) and/or special music.

Children in Kindergarten through the Fifth Grade (K-5) are in the service for the first 15 minutes, after which they go to their own religious education programs.

After the service we gather for coffee (or tea) and conversation.

Do you have service all year?
Yes. We meet year round for Sunday worship service at 10:00 a.m. Summer worship has guest speakers as well as lay-led services. The Religious Education program has an all-ages
(K-5) lesson and activity each Sunday throughout the summer months.
